Seminary of St. Pius X—Tonsure and First Minor Orders—2024
On February 24, 2024, Ember Saturday of Lent, Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais carried out the ceremonies of ordination at the Seminary of St. Pius X in Écône (Switzerland). Many families of the ordinands had made the trip. Priests had come to support the “new generation” of seminarians with their presence and their prayers.
Bishop Tissier de Mallerais conferred the clerical tonsure on 15 seminarians in their second year: a Brazilian, ten Frenchmen, two Italians, a Kenyan, and a Sri Lankan, as well as a Capuchin from Morgon.
Bishop Tissier then conferred the orders of porter and lector to eight seminarians in their third year: five Frenchmen, two Italians, and a Luxembourgian, as well as a Capuchin from the Convent of St. Francis.
